Hi, my wonderful sister-inlaw suggested that I should be keeping a record of all the great adventures that my beautiful wife and I experience. I thought about it, and decided to put something together. Of course, first we must journey to the past before keeping up with the present. =)

January 2010
Hard to believe how fast 2010 just blew by! It was an incredible year with family, travel, entertainment and celebration!
Jan 1. We kicked of 2010 by celebrating at the McPhillips Casino being entertained by Kenny Shields & Streetheart
Jan 5-6. Flew to Ottawa for a day of team meetings.
Jan 16. Just hanging around the house finding ways to keep warm! LOL. Can you tell by the look of Zhayna's face that she wants to be rescued from our Cabin Fever!!
Jan 28. I love it when we get to see performances by the groups of my youth!! A double header with Queen City Kids and Kick Axe at Silverado's!
April 2. Neighbours massive tree fell across the yard, stripping all the branches off 1 side of our spruce tree.
April 3-11. Las Vegas, Nevada Vow Renewal!!
Day 1- April 3. We drove to Grand Forks so we could take advantage of the huge savings by flying to Las Vegas on Allegiant Air. This pic is the cookie from the Kid Pack that you can get on the plane. Shireen did such a good job making it colourful. =D
Day 2- April 4. Arrived in Las Vegas and checked into the MGM Grand. Our suite was awesome with a huge jacuzzi and a view that overlooked the Hooter's Hotel and Mandalay Bay Hotel.
Day 2- April 4.. Weather wasn't the greatest (cloudy, chilly, and windy), but we found ways to heat it up. LOL
Day 3- April 5. Happy Anniversary!! Celebrating our 24th Anniversary, we went to the Chapel Of the Bells to renew our vows! This is the same Chapel that Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos where married.
Day 3- April 5. After renewing our vows, we enjoyed dinner at the Stratosphere hotel's rotating restaurant "Top of the World"!
What an incredible view of Las Vegas!!
Followed by an amazing romantic Vegas sunset and ending with a spectacular scenic view overlooking the lights of Vegas!
Day 3- April 5. Our night concluded with some intimate time and great memories at Taboo Ultra Lounge.
Day 4- April 6. Jetted off to Reno, in northern Nevada for a very romantic honeymoon! Here is a pic of Shireen getting very friendly with one of the locals LOL.
Day 5- April 7. Amazing what Nevada has to offer =D
In Carson City, we discovered the famous Moonlight Bunny Ranch which is featured on the HBO show Cathouse!! During our tour, we got to briefly meet 1 of the stars - Brooke Taylor.
I think Shireen wanted to apply! To be a TV star, what are you thinking? LOL
Day 5- April 7. Lake Tahoe is so breathtaking and serene.
Day 6- April 8. Back to Vegas!!
With a 4 leaf clover in our fancy room at the Excalibur, I just know I am going to get lucky. haha
Fully refreshed from our honeymoon, we are off to enjoy the sights and fun of Vegas!
Day 6- April 8. Enjoyed some hilarious entertainment at the show of "Terry Fator with his cast of thousands" (but we only saw a few)!
Day 7- April 9. Following the AC/DC concert, we partied and danced the night away at this Mexican club until they closed!
What a fantastic time!
Day 8- April 10. Garth Brooks in concert at the Encore Hotel in Las Vegas. The security and scalper prevention were in full force for Garth's concert. Since pictures and videos weren't allowed to be taken, the only pic they allowed was before the performance.
But I've posted the best combination of a video below - Terry Fator doing a Garth Brooks impersonation. =)
Day 9- April 11. Just after sunrise in Las Vegas, we flew back to Grand Forks. Super Shireen drove all the way back to Winnipeg!! I slept most of the way, ooops!
Day 9- April 11.Whew, we managed to make it back before they closed the highway due to flooding. A week after this pic was taken, the highway was closed for 35 days!
April 12. Zhayna is so happy to be able to relax with us at home again. Thank you very much Kherri for putting up with our dog when we are away!
April 14.The kids went to a lot of work to throw us a surprise party to celebrate our Anniversary and my birthday! They are such awesome young adults! Not only did they decorate, but had an amazing cake created! Luv you guys, that was so special! ?
April 16. Hanging around the house, helping Zhayna perfect her Circus tricks!
April 18. Drove out to Lockport to watch the water race through the locks. And of course to stop off at the Half Moon for a treat! =D
April 20. While hanging out at the Forks, Shireen ran into Nikita, an old friend.
April 21. Manitoba Moose Hockey Game Manitoba Moose lose to Hamilton Bulldogs 5-4 in double overtime!
April 23. Suntanning in the back yard enjoying a super nice day!

May 2010
May 1. Flowers are starting to bloom and leaves are starting to bud in the warm sunshine. Some suntan with more clothes than others. While some dogs misbehave and captivate the day.
May 1. Orphan and The Pumps at MyBar in Transcona.
May 9. Ron White at the Burton Cumming's Theatre. (The Walker) - No pics or videos allowed. Although his show was pretty good, we much prefer to watch his comedy on TV. =)
May 10. Randi's Birthday and Mother's Day Celebration. Another great party put together and hosted by my kiddies!! They are all so awesome!
May 14. Shireen climbed into the tree to help with cutting down some branches! It was all going well until she wanted to try the electric chainsaw!! Fortunately, she didn't saw me in half - but she also didn't wait for me to get off the ladder before she started cutting. I got nailed by a big branch and thrown off the ladder. Ohhh Shireen, silly hard working monkey girl - luv u :-)
May 16. Amazing how fast and how much the grass can grow! Ryan called to say he needed help cutting his grass after he blew his lawnmower up - NO KIDDING! LOL.
May 17. Lifehouse opens for Daughtry at the MTS Center. Daughtry was very impressive. A huge Thanks to Heather for the tickets.
May 17. Glen, the handyman, started the renovations on our bathroom including the repairs to the ceiling in the foyer.
May 21. Happy Birthday Shireen. Just hanging out together in the evening enjoying each other around the fire.
May 23. 2 Day trip to Dauphin to celebrate Shireen & my Mom's birthday. Their birthdays are on the same day!!
Ryan, Randi, & Kherri (& the little dogs Roxy and Zhayna) also joined us in Dauphin to celebrate the birthdays!
May 25. Shireen gets her hair coloured and styled by Lynne at Root 37 in Transcona.
June 2010
June 1. Bathroom renovations are well underway. All the old stuff has been removed and now starting to rebuild. Shireen has been really involved, giving a helping hand at every opportunity and learning as much as she can. Very impressive honey! <3
June 3. Kenny Shields and Streetheart put on a Benefit Concert at Silverado's to honour the soldiers. They were joined by performances from the Winnipeg Police Pipe Band and speech by Mayor Sam Katz to support the troops. The night was inspirational and the performances were epic!!
Hard to say which is more delicious - Shireen or the wings at Silverado's !! lol
June 7. Do you think Shireen should be punished for suntanning topless trying to eliminate her tanning lines, or for smoking?
June 8. Bathroom renovations are finally complete!! Bathroom looks great, all the fixtures are brass since Shireen likes gold so much! I oops'd a bit on the colour, it should have had more purple in it to match the countertop. No biggie, still looks great and correctable some day in the future if we wish.
June 9. Family Fun Night at Ryan and Randi's. Always an entertaining time hanging out with the kids and listening to their great stories. Also watched the coolest event ever - a dog that can eat corn on the cob!
June 13. Looking for People!! Hey where did everyone go? Started off at Bird's Hill Beach. But after waiting for a while, no one showed up so we went to Half Moon in Lockport for supper. Parking lot is empty? All is ok though, we romantically get to enjoy the sunset over the locks.
June 17. An evening out with Don & Diana at Club Regent starting with dining at the delicious casino buffet.
June 18. Carrie Underwood Concert at the MTS Center. She totally blew us away with her performance including singing from a flying truck that moved across the arena!
June 20. Happy Father's Day Celebration at Bird's Hill Park.
A great day with family, food, gifts, and animals! lol

June 22. Eagles perform at the Winnipeg Canad Inns Football Stadium. Dixie Chicks were the opening act. What a stellar concert, not only did I not realize how many songs I knew, but how great the Eagles still perform!!

June 26. Red River Ex Day with concerts from Carly Rae Jepson & Stereos planned. Nasty weather forced us to cancel & dine at Nick's Inn.
June 28. Lil' Kim was to perform at Mystique Night Club. Shireen looked absolutely ravishing wearing her Little Black Dress! Only to be disappointed when we arrived at the door to find the concert had been canceled! ;-(

June 30. Iron Maiden puts on a mind blowing concert at the MTS Center.
July 1. Happy Canada Day!! Celebration with Fireworks at the Forks.
July 2. Winnipeg Blue Bombers defeat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 49-29! Thanks to my brother Don for letting us use his season tickets for this game especially since they are such great seats at mid-field. Great game. =)
July 3. Queen Elizabeth II at The Forks.
After visiting the new Canadian Museum of Human Rights, she attended the Canadian Concert for Human Rights at The Forks National Historic Site where she delivered a speech to the public.
After is became just a fun day of hanging out with Kherri at The Forks.

July 4. Independence Day in Grand Forks.

But Shireen also provided a great deal of the fun in Grand Forks!
July 5. My parents, Bill and Lill drop into the city from Dauphin for a visit.
It is so great that our entire family is able to get together to hang with them.

July 14. Trooper at Club Regent Casino.
"Raise a Little Hell" was one of the first songs to get me interested in music! We had a great time listening to the tunes. An advantage to sitting in the first row is to be serenaded by Ra! After the concert, people would walk by and call Shireen Trooper Girl.
July 15. Nascar Racing Event at the Red River Co-op Speedway. 4 Nascar drivers => Sterling Marlin, Ken Schraeder, Kenny Wallace and Michael Waltrip <= borrowed cars from the regular dirt track drivers and joined in the races. The best part of the high priced event was the fireworks at the end!!
July 16. Happy Birthday Ryan!!
Demolition Derby at Selkirk "No Bull" Demolition Derby. Worst part wasn't that there was 4 cars in full size demo, but that Ryan was in agony from being rear-ended moments earlier in his new red Cutlass. Not the way to start the celebration!!

July 17. Bon Jovi concert at Canad Inns Stadium.
Sierra Noble - opening act - missed most of it due to ridiculous long line-up to get in. Kid Rock was the second act. Wall of Avatar people blocked the view, floor seats not always the greatest! Bugged by same security person from MTS at event not letting me record video!
July 21. Ryan brings over his fancy Cutlass to show it off. Now that's stylin' =)

August 2010
Aug 1. Awesome sunrise to start the month.
Hint: If I see a sunrise, it is because I am still up, not just getting up LOL. Just left Carla's cabin in Gimli. Great night hanging with friends by the fire. Hilarious ending when Carla discovered she was locked out of the cabin!
Aug 2. Downtown Winnipeg
Another stormy, rainy day, but doesn't keep us inside. Nothing better than chowing down on a delicious VJ's Burger.
Aug 4. Folklorama -- Indo-Tropical Pavilion
Randi, Ryan, and Kherri joined us for an evening of fun.
Aug 5. Sierra Noble performs in the Cube in the Old Market Area as part of the Folklorama Concert Series. I got to meet Sierra Noble and get a signed CD, I couldn't wait to show Shireen. Too bad the pouring rain kept away so many including Shireen.
Aug 5. Evening was spent at Red River Co-op Speedway for some great dirt track racing.
Aug 7. "Cruz in Downtown" in downtown Winnipeg.
Cool cars and lots of smoke at the truck pull. Too bad we missed the burn-out competition.
Aug 8. Nice relaxing day at the beach on a hot summer day at Bird's Hill Park.
Followed by some heavy drinking (Shireen, of course! lol).
Concluding with a romantic sunset dining experience at the Half Moon Drive-in at Lockport.

The show and the dancing are always spectacular. Also performing was Sierra Noble. Shireen got to meet Sierra after the show and get a CD signed.

Aug 11. Folklorama -- India Pavilion
Since the party was canceled, we decided to check out the India Pavilion. Boy we were glad we did!! What an awesome time with incredible dancers and music.
Aug 12. Folklorama -- Pavilion of Scotland
They seemed to be leaping for joy that we arrived. The dancing reminded me of going to Scottish shows when I was a kid to see my older cousin dance with swords! The band, especially the Bag pipes are always a thrill!
Aug 13. Goldeyes Baseball Game
Thanks to Winnipeggers Wednesday for the tickets, to such great seats behind home plate. The Winnipeg Goldeyes defeated the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 3-0.
Aug 15. Kherri's House.
Stopped by to check on the baby (lol) and make sure everything was alright. Anyone else think it is weird that you can see right through Shireen's leg to see her shirt - look closely!

Aug 21-28. Chicago Trip
Can't even emphasis enough how amazing the trip to Chicago was. Thanks to Heather for her part in making this trip happen!! =D
Day 1 - Aug 21
Left 3 hours late. Some shopping in Grand Forks, but too late for Fargo shopping. Stayed at Marriott in St. Cloud, MN arrived just after midnight.
Day 2 - Aug 22
Shopped at the Mall of America for a few hours. What a great mall! So huge! Drove for a few more hours to Beloit, Wisconsin.
Day 3 - Aug 23
Arrived at Chicago!! Stayed at Marriott in Tinley Park. Intended to drive along Lake Michigan for scenery and beaches, but found the Lighthouse Fashion Outlet Mall in Michigan City, Indiana!
Day 4 - Aug 24
Day devoted to the Shedd Aquarium. It was freezing inside! Purchased Total Experience Package including Fantasea Show & 4D Happy Feet Movie (really cool).
Drive back to hotel, set GPS to avoid Toll Roads. Ended up in Flashing Blue Light District. (This is not sales at K-mart, but dangerous crime-ridden areas. The blue light indicates monitored cameras)
Day 5 - Aug 25
Switched Hotels to Marriott in downtown Chicago. Parking downtown is about $50 day, 2nd most expensive in USA! Went for a drive to find United Arena location and ended up finding Oprah Studio. Too bad we couldn't get tickets for show.

Day 6 - Aug 26
Started with Tall Ships Festival at the Navy Pier. A short time at downtown beach, then off to Lincoln Park Zoo. Shireen sad that we missed Gorilla's by 10 mins. Little downtown stroll & shopping, return to Michigan City Mall to shop, finally drove back to Beloit, Wisconsin.
Day 7 - Aug 27
Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin is a resort town filled with tourist treats like largest wooden rollercoaster, mini-golf, and numerous water parks. We enjoyed an afternoon in the hot sun, ate some very delicious food at iHop. Then drove to Mall of America in Minneapolis for more shopping & fun - with Shireen the entertainment never stops, she's so awesome.
Day 8 - Aug 28
Arrived at Fargo at 3am ! Stopped at Hardee's for a nutritious delicious snack. Found a grocery store open and did some shopping at Hornbachers. Arrived back in Manitoba in time for a very picturesque sunrise!

Sept 4. Sierra Noble performs at the Manitoba Museum "Shakin' All Over - Manitoba Music Experience" exhibit which is based Music Contributions of Manitoba. It was so cool when stumbled upon Bif Naked's picture =D
Sept. 5. Cruzin' Dauphin
An annual event in Dauphin, Manitoba that includes Burnout Competitions, Monster Truck Shows, Dirt Track Rracing, and a Car Show.
Also we get to enjoy some fine Dauphin cuisine while visiting with the 'rents. =D
Sept 7. American Idol Summer Concert Series.
Concert was canceled. After being loyal fans all season we were looking forward to this concert especially since ours seats were in the center of Row 1 on the floor !!! How often does that happen (without shelling out exorbitant VIP prices).
Too Bad, So Sad (for us)!
Sept 8. Aerosmith Concert with opening act - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. We were so fortunate to have won tickets to this concert as it was much better than anticipated.The light show was intense!!!
Sept 14.. Justin Bieber. Tickets were nearly impossible to get. The best I could get was in the rafters, upper deck row 12 ! All the enthusiasm & the 'into it' crowd made this a spectacular concert! The screams were deafening & everyone was singing louder than JB.
Sept 15. Happy Birthday Kherri !!
Booze, presents, food, family, and friends - that's what birthday girl's parties are made of. =D

One thing is clear, when Kherri throws a party she hires the toughest security that there is. When they see someone getting out of control, they spring to action and will stare you down in an extremely intimidating manner!!
Sept 17. In an effort to earn some extra income, Kherri worked promoting the new interactive Playstation at BestBuy on Regent. She looked so adorable demonstrating how to work the console and had such a great time playing the games!
Sept 17. A strange wardrobe moment with Shireen and Kherri while shopping at Garden City Mall. Only they can make weird look good haha!

Surprise birthday party for Carla at her dad's. Good thing for the huge fire in the firepit to keep us warm - it was sooo cold. Unfortunately we had to leave early due to Dauphin Thanksgiving trip.

Oct 16. Looks like somebody is learning how to use their new cell phone. Shireen playing with her new BlackBerry Torch Cell phone at the Tim Hortons/Wendy's on Fermor.
Oct 21-25. Los Angeles, California
Flew by WestJet to Calgary and then to LA arriving in the early afternoon. Chartered an evening bus tour of LA including Hollywood and a brief stop at Universal Studio. It was a great introduction to California!
Day 1 - Oct 21. Playing around on the bus as we toured around downtown LA/Hollywood/Beverly Hills in the evening. Director Eva Longoria debut "Latino's Living The America Dream" Premiere at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Also Shireen spotted Kat from LA Ink at a coffee shop, so we stopped and all took pictures LOL.
Day 2 - Oct 22. Started at the Marina Del Ray, then strolled along Venice Beach, and ending the night romantically at the Santa Monica Pier! What an awesome day of adventure! Since it was chilly and windy, not many people on the beach, just 1 group shooting a ?commercial? =D
Day 3 - Oct 23. Downtown Los Angeles
Saved a lot of money by taking city bus to down town. What an adventure for a few bucks! But we started getting treated like WE were homeless. Not a nice feeling. Marriott downtown was fancy with a great view from our room. Shakira Concert Anticipation!
Day 3 - Oct 23. Shakira Concert!!!!
Sensation Concert - Shakira is such an incredible singer and performer! The entire Sold-Out Staples Center was just a rockin' !
Day 4 - Oct 24. Disneyland Day. We are off to Anaheim! Since downtown streets blocked off due to Marathon and concerts, we ended up taking Amtrak. What a ride! The wine was delicious! Spent the entire day at Disneyland - what a rush! The cold temperature and the rain kept the crowds down!
Day 5 - Oct 25. Vacation over, time to go home! Managed to get a good deal on a shuttle from Anaheim to the LAX Airport. Looked around at the airport to see if we could find any celebrities, but no luck, and we were just too exhausted.

Nov 1. As Winter starts to set in, all you can do is find a comfortable position and just dream about the days when the temperature is hotter and the sun is blazing.

We stood and watched in the bitter cold as the parade passed by the Portage Place Mall. I hope Santa will bring us presents even if we have been naughty. A couple of floats shot flames into the sky (providing some much needed warmth). Watch the video. =)

Nov 13. Manitoba Moose beat the Rochester Americans 6-2. It was so much fun to watch the Moose. Shireen even many to record one of the goals with her phone, make sure you watch the video!
Nov 14. We won a pair of tickets to the Bling Jewelry Show in St. Boniface.
Nov 15. Little River Band performs at the McPhillips Street Casino. Shireen used her new BB Torch to capture a few clips which I joined together to make 1 video. The other video I recorded by just leaving the camera on the table. (Security is really tight for recording)
Nov 16. Roxy and Zhayna get their Vet Checkups at the Henderson Animal Hospital. Roxy's dental surgery is planned for early 2011.
Nov 20. Ozzy Osbourne performs at the MTS Center. (Halford from Judas Priest was the opening act) Such an incredible performance by Ozzy even though he is 62! He had such a great time especially when foaming down the crowd! The video below of War Pigs - a Black Sabbath songs is one of my favourite.
Day 1 - Dec 3. Drove to Grand Forks, North Dakota to spend some time shopping. By the time we continued driving to Fargo, North Dakota, a wicked snow storm blew in. Highway became so slippery nearly slid past Fargo!
Day 2 - Dec 4. Started the Day off with some shopping at the West Acres Mall in Fargo. While having lunch, the NDSU Concert Choir showed up like a flash mob and started singing! It was pretty cool to be there!
Rest of day was shopping day, Fashion Mall at Albertville and then Mall Of America in Minneapolis.
Day 3 - Dec 5. Minnesota Vikings beat the Buffalo Bills at MetroDome in Minneapolis. Awesome entertainment => the football game, the celebrations, & Cheerleaders. 1 Week later a snow storm destroyed the MetroDome roof!
Day 4 - Dec 6. Jingle Ball Concert at the Target Center in Minneapolis. Performances by Mike Posner, Selena Gomez, Taio Cruz, Sara Bareilles, B.O.B., Enrique Iglesias, and 3OH!3. Loudest Crowd Ever!
Day 5 - Dec 7. Return home to Winnipeg after stopping to shop at Mall Of America, Albertsville, Fargo West Acres, and the SuperTarget in Grand Forks. Luckily the roads had been plowed and made for a quicker and easier drive home!

Dec 12. Drove around admiring the Christmas light displays.
Dec 14. Shireen's mom and sister Beth came over for an afternoon visit. Beth, now an inspirational speaker, spent time trying to encourage Shireen to improve her health situation.
Dec 24. We celebrated our Christmas on Christmas Eve with Ryan, Randi, and Kherri.
Dec 26. Christmas Celebration in Dauphin on Boxing Day! Family pic with my 2 brothers (Don, Ken), my sister Laurie, and my parents. Ken's wife Leeta, Michelle, Kherri, Ryan, and Randi also joined us. Fun time by all with lots of food and bugging. Early in the morning on the way to Dauphin, nature presented her beauty with sun dogs.
